His secret relationship could help to get him removed from the council, but they need more proof that he's behind the deck.

Um I don't think you've encountered Barabels too much, Al. You ran into a Barabel slave on Karazak, uh, who you left to die. Um you picked uh JC instead.

Uh from space, you can see that the planet is uh quite turbulent. That uh the you can see like the night side of the planet is covered in like heavy storm clouds. You can see thunder rolling across the surface, and the day side uh seems to be like devoid of any clouds whatsoever. The red dwarf of the planet, your ship's sensors, you can see are emitting massive amounts of radiation that are bombarding the day side of the planet, making this a very dangerous place to be outside.

It's not like locked, so it's like the the the sunny side is always facing the sun, is it? It still rotates.

Uh yeah, it still rotates, but the uh planet gets so hot and so bombarded with radiation during the day that a lot like the oceans and lakes begin to like steam and evaporate, and then that all gets rained back down during the night.

So, um, it would start at two purple. It is just kind of a standard scan. However, if you want to try and scan in a way that isn't going to alert the Republic ship to your presence, um you are technically working for a Jedi, but you're also maybe gonna rough up a Jedi. Uh that would add a black. Um because your scans may not penetrate the rocks of Barab 1, that would also add a black. So that would be two purple and two blacks. Okay. Three success, two advantages. Alright, so you can see that there are a number of cave entrances. You can see that there are some signs of technology at several of these cave entrances scattered around the planet, but each of the ratings that you're getting is slightly different. Uh so it seems that like maybe there's different tribes, maybe there's different people. It doesn't seem like the planet is unified, which would make sense if there's some kind of uh dispute going on with those advantages. Um you can avoid detection from the Republic, but you can also pick up some interesting uh anomalies from the surface.

Uh well, you can pick up that, like, from your scans, there are things that are like absorbing a lot of the radiation. It seems like it's almost being sucked into these very small points on the planet's surface.

So, uh, Rhombius and Al, you don't uh get a chance to think about what this stuff might be because uh you notice that like on your ship's scopes, you can see that the areas where you detected these anomalies, uh, there are some shuttles departing from the Republic ship down to those locations. Ooh. So it seems like this is whatever is down there is something that the Republic is uh interested in. Now, Meyer and Vanry, uh, that's kind of a threat for you guys because you guys do know what it is, but if you want to collect it, that means you'll have to deal with the Republic.

So, Meyer um as a person of uh means and a person who grew up around uh starships, this is something uh that you probably would have heard of if not seen in person necessarily. And Vanry as uh somebody who went to clown college, this is something that you would have uh heard of as well.

Well, I mean, you could have to be a sort of thing. And yes, I did go to clown college. But y your knowledge, your specific knowledge of it would come from clown college. Okay. So uh Barab 1 has a specific type of ore that can be found on the planet's surface that has uh the properties of absorbing radiation, making it very useful uh when implemented in starships because you want to divert radiation away from the places where people are, uh, but that also makes these ores into these incredibly like tightly focused, almost burning crystals that could be used in crystal-based weaponry to create a blade with intense burning characteristics.

Uh yeah, you can. Some some Sith did use uh Barab or Ingot in their lightsabers to create these kind of like flaming blades for their weapons.

So you can bring your ship uh towards one of these cave mouths that has uh been opened up in the mountain, and as you fly the ship in, uh you notice that like the beneath the mountains and the inside of the planet, these cavernous cave systems are not like tight, winding, like shallow caves. They are expansive, and you enter what can only be described as a lost world. Jurassic Park. Like some real hollow earth type shit as you fly in. Uh laid before you are like vast jungles that are illuminated by veins of barab ore that are like running from the surface all the way through. Like the radiation that these crystals absorb turn them into miniature solar lamps that allow a full jungle ecosystem to thrive beneath the surface of the planet.

And what they saw there, they don't really talk about what it was, but they saw something that like one of the things that is kind of written with a strong hand is at the end of like the erased section, something has to be done.
